Mention ITIL® and many people think of examinations, certifications and badges. There are a number of ‘Examination Institutes’ (EI) around the world that offer accreditation of training provider organisations, courses and lecturers to ensure training based on ITIL® follows defined syllabi and is of quality.

People who have an interest in Service Management, together with suppliers of related services have formed the itSMF, Information Technology Service Management Forum. The itSMF offers the opportunity to exchange ideas and views on many areas of Service Management. The itSMF has local chapters in many European countries and further a field, and regularly organises workshops and conferences.
